Venue

The School will start in Samara (Kuibyshev, 1935-1991) which is one of the most significant scientific, industrial and cultural centres of Russia. Samara is situated on the left bank of the Volga river closed to the Zhiguly mountains. There are a lot of theatres, museums and very nice places for rest. The Workshop possibly might be held on board of a the river ship, travelling from Samara to Volgograd (Stalingrad) and back. Samara lies at the junction of main highways, airlines, rail and water ways.

The Samara Region occupies about 20.695 square miles. The population of the Region is about 3.2 million, over 80% of which lives in urban areas. There are ten cities and over twenty towns in the region. The largest cities are: Samara (population 1.219.000), Togliatti (population 743.000), and Syzran (population 174.000).

Transportation for foreign participants

We recommend flying by Czech Airlines (OK-0910/0911) providing non stop flights from PRG - Prague (Czech Republic) to KUF - Samara (Russian Federation). There are more than 10 flights from Moscow to Samara every day. You can use company “Russian Airlines” (Aeroflot) or other Russian air carriers. The CSA Timetable on June you can find at the CSA website. You can also use the services of the Russian Railways, train from Moscow to Samara runs three times a day.
Participants will be met at the airport, train station and transferred to the hostel.
